First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who helped me with my How To Swim a 100m Breaststroke thread. I read your tips and started applying them.
My big meet is near and thoughts are already running through my head.
I figured I'm going to spend (hopefully) about one minute and twenty seconds in the water, so enough time to play a good pump up song in my head.
What I wanted to know is:
Do you play a song in your heads when you swim? on race day?
What is\are your favorite song(s)?
Let's dance!
Gal
pick one that works for you

It's really about putting yourself in IPS
Tip 24 Ideal Performance State
Put yourself in IPS in workout and swim FAST
Get to where you can put yourself in IPS with just your mind, just your own thoughts. Songs serve as triggers to help you get in IPS.
Put yourself in IPS
play the song
Put yourself in IPS
play the song
(repeat)
Then later just play the song and
see if it alters your STATE.
IPS isn't blind rage & going all out, it's about doing what you need to do when you need to do it
to perform your race at your highest level

Pantera - regular people
That song always gets me pumped up :applaud:
I haven't listened to Pantera in quite a while. Gonna have to dig out the CDs again. I actually met their singer Phil Anselmo in the Dallas airport on my way to NAIA Nationals in San Antonio in 1996. Got him to sign one of my CDs as well! :)
Going the Distance by Cake!
And for warm-down - Swim 'til You Can't See Land by Frightened Rabbit.
(I've yet to find a song ABOUT swimming that's good FOR swimming, if you want to swim fast.)
