Water shirts for midday workout?

Has anyone found a rash guard or swim shirt that enables them to workout at least somewhat like they would without it? Every year I keep expecting speedo or one of the manufacturers to advertise a viable fabric that clings to the skin while maintaining a decent level of breathability and uv protection. Anyway, anything out there that works well for people?

I'd like the opposite- leg skins for somewhat cold open water swimming (high 60's/low 70's). I don't care about the upper half of me, just the bottom.
  • I've been swimming with the O'Neill rash guard suggested above for a couple of days now. Overall I've been impressed. In addition to the UV 50+ rating, it offers one heck of a drag component to your workout. It isn't so heavy so as to significantly alter your stroke or body position but it does offer a 2-3sec per hundred drag to your swim and you definitely need to emphasize a strong kick off walls to sustain distance off your turns. Towards the end of workout your legs will feel quite heavy... As a con I have a little bit of chaffing on my breathing ear (I'm a unilateral rightie). I'll bet some anti-chaffing will help. Hope this helps others Swimmer Magazine may have covered this in a previous issue but this might be a topic worth exploring (Pros/Cons of using rash guards to your workout, varieties available). I'd volunteer to be a tester... ;) I appreciate the suggestions. I picked one up at the sporting good store this morning and I'll report back soon...
