  • Caitlyn Jenner - if anybody has any doubt whatsoever - she knows better than all  - Gold medal in decathlon and as a "female" probably would have won 20 medals ...

  • Thanks Kurt for bringing this to our attention. XY will never = XX Regardless if this person did a year of hormone replacement therapy or whatever, they will always have massive advantages over women!!! The results of the meet need to be remedied & then that policy needs to be fixed! Participating in the women’s category is not a right & if you weren’t born a female you shouldn’t be allowed to compete, very simple.

  •    you out-touched me fair and square in the W45-49 100 free by 0.01 but it should have been the difference between 1st & 2nd. Not 2nd & 3rd.

  • All the women (all 50+ of us) need to by filing protests along with the men & women in the Mixed relays affected by this. No more of this!!!!

  • Agreed!  Great job this weekend!!

  • TO ALL SWIMMERS AFFECTED: Please reach out to me via messaging on the forum so we can start a group email thread. I will be talking with a NCAA ranked swimmer this afternoon who has also been affected by unfair rules. She may have some insight and shine a brighter light on the issue...

  • USMS is aware of allegations regarding the eligibility of a swimmer who competed at our Spring National Championship. We have received an eligibility review request and will follow our formal process to make a determination.

  • I already filed my request for eligibility review and protest w/USMS and they are going to convene a board to review. My biggest concern is for World Championships because this person intends to compete there and in two of my events when I'm trying to get back on the podium and win a world championship. Also USMS has been submitting this person's times to World Aquatics for inclusion in the World Top 10 lists.

  • thank you for bringing this to light.  This is my first year competing Nationals, and I had a blast.  Even though I did not swim against this "female" this makes me very angry.  So unfair to have to compete against someone that is naturally stronger than us women.  Until this discussion was started I really did not think much about it.  While I did see this athlete I really did not think much about it.  My brain had a very hard time processing when I saw armpit hair with a full suit and a sundress!!  For those of us that put in the hours of practice and sacrifice of time to have someone come and dominate not just 1 stroke, but everything they swim is not right.

  • It seems that there is not a lot of awareness of how big this type of situation has become worldwide. Sadly it appears that the majority of female athletes at all levels in all sports are either A) supportive of trans males in their sports B) unwilling, unable or uninterested in speaking up or C) out of the loop and not aware it’s happening.

Major sports have tried to accommodate, no interest by the trans community in the 3rd category option:

Meanwhile the group I feel the worst about are high school girls missing out on making teams, getting recruited to colleges, getting injured, having to be in locker rooms with biological males.

finally, mental illness is a major problem in society and we need to support efforts to treat gender dysmorphia as it has an incredibly high suicide rate. Not being honest with people and setting boundaries for those who suffer this affliction IMHO is not helping them
