ePostal - Recording Results

Does anyone else feel rather pissed that USMS only provided ONE day after the 1-hr ePostal event ended to record your results?  In the past they've allowed at least a week to get your times in.  Are things that critical?

  • Candidly, ePostal participation had declined in recent years. As we looked to boost participating by revamping these events (and rebrand as Virtual Championships), condensing the timeline was a point of emphasis based on feedback from swimmers.

January is the historical timeframe for this event, which has a long and storied history. As the event was extended to February and then even March due the pandemic last year, participation had declined significantly. As mentioned, in prior years someone who swam in January didn’t find out the results (or get awards) until several months later.

By registering in advance, as is customary for nearly any type of event (virtual included), swimmers have a goal to work towards and we can send a free event cap to registrants. The results submission process was outline on the event page, entry page, and in several email reminders. We’re sorry you missed the deadline to submit your results. This could’ve been done anytime after your swim was completed starting Jan. 1 through Feb. 2 (two days after the event officially ended on Jan. 31). We had to draw the line somewhere in order to open relay entries today and compile results to post by tomorrow. We are unable to accept additional results at this point.

Participation for the 2022 USMS 1-Hour Virtual Championship exceeded 2021 and even 2020 (pre-pandemic) totals. We are excited to build on momentum moving forward. We hope you will participate in future USMS Virtual Championships.
