The national qualifying times for the 2019 U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship have been released. The meet will be held April 25-28 in Mesa, Ariz. Interesting that aztimm just completely deleted his rant...er post. Seems like a "mea culpa" would have been appropriate.
TBH, it's really generous for USMS to adopt such a honor system approach to qualifying for Nationals, period. I mean, I understand the desire to be inclusive and use Nats as a gathering of Masters swimmers as much as a championship meet, but it is technically a National meet.
That said, I had been planning on going this year but have had some unexpected expenses so far and so probably will not be spending more money on a swim meet... maybe next year in San Antonio.
