2017 short course nationals in Riverside, California
Former Member
Hey guys, enjoying reading the forum here today. I've recently came out of swimming retirement and started training again in the pool. More so just to get back in and stay in shape doing something I enjoy. I'd like to set a goal to qualify for riverside but I cant find the qualifying times needed. I swam for a few months (3) back in 2015 and qualified in a few swims but from what I've read the qualifying standard changes yearly.
Also, as the meet gets closer will they post more info, accommodations, etc.,
Lastly, what can I expect at a nationals meet? Is it laid back and social or super competitive? Definitely looking at the trip as a mini get away and enjoying myself with the wife.
Thanks in advance, looking to get most info I can.

By request.
The brew pub that I was going to suggest, Heroes Restaurant and Brewery, is already listed in the Meet Program on page 12. They have rolled out the red carpet for us on Thursday April 27 starting at 5pm. The microbreweries that I am most familiar with are all in nearby Redlands, Hangar 24, Escape, and Ritual. All can be found on tap in the area. Hangar 24 will be hosting the beer garden for the USMS social on Friday April 27, and is on page 8 of the program. During my last visit to Hangar 24 I asked which beers would they be serving for the Friday social and I was told it would be their popular varieties. Another good microbrewery is Sons of Liberty Aleworks in Norco.
Awesome. Thanks!
Rob,
It should appear on the Nat'ls page www.usms.org/.../ somewhere on the sidebar (left hand side) under "IN THIS SECTION" once the IT team gets it set up.
Thanks Jim! Hopefully the IT team can get it up soon. :)

Eney Jones (55-59) has a DNF for the 1650. Does anybody know why? I'm guessing she was going for a split request, since she later swam the 1000.You can't get a split from an event unless you finish the race, so that wasn't it.

You can't get an official split unless you finish the race. I've seen some going for a split request and if they are not happy with the split and don't really care if it gets submitted or not just get out.
