Hey guys, enjoying reading the forum here today. I've recently came out of swimming retirement and started training again in the pool. More so just to get back in and stay in shape doing something I enjoy. I'd like to set a goal to qualify for riverside but I cant find the qualifying times needed. I swam for a few months (3) back in 2015 and qualified in a few swims but from what I've read the qualifying standard changes yearly. Also, as the meet gets closer will they post more info, accommodations, etc., Lastly, what can I expect at a nationals meet? Is it laid back and social or super competitive? Definitely looking at the trip as a mini get away and enjoying myself with the wife. Thanks in advance, looking to get most info I can. Nathan Stuart 32 Jacksonville Beach, FL
  • OK I'm going to Home depot on fri. look for the needed materials for the BS start ledge. Stay tuned fore upcoming D I Y plans
  • 1,155 people entered as of now. Anyone want to guess on the final number? I know lots of people typically enter near the deadline (Monday), so I'll say about 1,800.
  • I also emailed the Riverside CC head coach, and he also said "no" to both.

  • 2,037 entries. Pretty big meet! That is big! West coast meets seem to bring 'em out. Maybe Jeff can remind us the size of the subsequent SCY nationals.

  • The Championship Committee has decided not to drop the sixth event. Swimmers who entered six events will be able to swim all six. Psych sheets will be available soon and all seeding decisions will be announced by next week. Jeff Roddin USMS Championship Committee
  • Psych sheets are now posted: www.usms.org/.../ The 50s, 100s and 200s will be preseeded, with the oldest age groups first, slowest to fastest within each age group, men and women separate. The 500 freestyles and the 400 IMs will be deck seeded, with the oldest age groups first, slowest to fastest within each age group, men and women separate. The 1000 and 1650 freestyles will be deck-seeded slowest to fastest by entry time, regardless of age, with men and women separate. THEREFORE ALL EVENTS 400 YARDS AND LONGER WILL REQUIRE POSITIVE CHECK-IN. Heat sheets for preseeded events, as well as the estimated timeline, are expected to be posted on the USMS website on or about April 14. Empty lanes can dampen competitive conditions and we'd like to avoid that when possible. Although we cannot offer any refunds, if you are absolutely certain you will not be swimming any of the 50s, 100s or 200s, please let us know and you'll be removed from those events before we seed the meet to cut down on empty lanes and provide for more competitive heats. Please note that once we take you out of an event, we cannot put you back in. Scratches will be accepted through April 7. Please email scratches or entry errors to championship@usms.org.
