  • No, it won't be a "zoo." For one thing, it's going to be an eight-day pool meet, so there will be no more than three events each day. The ninth day of competition will be the open water swim (about a 15-minute drive from the pool). The pool complex routinely hosts age group meets of up to 1,200 swimmers. There is a large field adjacent to the pool, which will become a "tent city" like there was at the Mesa nationals. You can see an aerial photograph of part of the pool complex at the top of the Pan American 2013 web site. Eight days? :afraid:Hotel room $ x 8, hot and humid weather x 8; count me out. :badday: I initially wanted to go (very much!) until I heard it would be outdoors, in the heat and humidity. Now, the thought of 8 days of expenses AND the weather counts me out. I'll save my $ for Mission Viejo and Montreal, instead...
