Back in the old days ,way before tech suits, we rubbed oils or other lotions on to allow us to swim faster. After we shaved then we applied stuff wherever water came into contact with the body. Are they still allowed?
Bullfrog SPF 30.
Please wear sunblock ... even those beach-loving Californians don't have sun like we do here.
But will they allow it in a carryon bag at the airport, or do we have to try to find it there? (like it would be hard to find).
Don't forget some type of sandals for your feet too! I forgot to pack sandals when I was 18 at the '95 Junior Nats @ the ASU pool in Tempe...burned the bottoms of my feet.

Debaru, is that stuff at a local store that I can get there? Good thinking on the airlines liquid amounts. Maybe I can get it here in Chicagoland & put it in several bottles !
You might try some DermaSwim Pro lotion. It's a skin lotion that is formulated to block the absorption of chlorine, but it's as slippery as snot (for a lack of a better term). In fact, they even have a warning to this effect on the tube. And, they warn to not put it on the bottom of your feet. LOL!
I'm still not sure whether I'll be swimming at Nats, but since I live about 15 miles from the Mesa Aquatic Center I'll be there as a spectator at the very least. I'll bring some along in case anyone wants to try it. :)

Yes, up to 3 ounces per container! Just get a couple containers and you'll have six ounces of sunscreen to use in AZ. Should be plenty.
With all the fees I avoid checking bags like the plague. Last summer I went to Worlds in Sweden with just carry-ons. Good thing swimming isn't gear intensive! Basically you need a suit and goggles and that's about it.

:bitching::bliss::bitching:Sandals are a good idea.
We are a bit backwards here in Arizona (just watch any speech from our Governor), but we do have stores that sell stuff like sunblock, sandals, sunglasses, etc.

I've not seen it in the local sports shops I frequent and bought mine directly from the manufacturer: http://www.dermaswimpro.com/
