I know Mr. Brundage already stated this topic elsewhere, but possible closure of Clovis facilities was mentioned in another thread so I wanted a new topic that people would read.
There is no hint of Swine Flu impacting Nationals. I am not part of the meet management staff, but I received the following email from Clovis Unified School District 2 1/2 hours ago:

The District is staying in close contact with Fresno County and State health officials to ensure we are up to date with the latest information on how this evolving situation is impacting our community. School nurses and principals have been provided updates throughout the week, and we continue to encourage our staff, students and families to follow simple hygiene practices that can stop the spread of influenza. These include frequent hand washing, taking care to cough or sneeze into a Kleenex or sleeve, and staying home if you are exhibiting classic flu symptoms like vomiting and a fever. To this date, Fresno County Health Department is continuing to encourage residents to continue their daily routine, like attending school, and observing common hygiene practices like those described earlier.

At this time, there is no indication that the USMS National Short Course Championships will be adversely affected by the Swine Flu outbreak. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and keep everyone informed. It appears that all transmission of the virus in the US is the result of close and prolonged contact with an infected individual. Community wide spread by casual contact has not occurred. However, we request that any swimmer having a upper respiratory illness stay at home.
