I swam at our youth GP, since it was hosted by us in Feb 2009. Not alot of kids like to swim the the 400IM, or they don't have too many chances to improve their times.
I was in the final heat against kids born in 1993-1997 (me 1974). I talked to the 1997 kids coach during warm ups. I wound up telling his coach I was going to do everything I could to beat his 12yr old swimmer. we laughed about it. but then all the under 15 swimmers from that team made a big deal about it. they thought it was cool that an older guy was racing against them. they too wanted to do everything they could to beat me. I hit the wall nearly 10 secs over my Nov 2008 time, but beat the '97 kid by 3 secs :banana:
