Does anyone know the percentage of ex-college swimmers vs. non-college swimmers competing at Nationals? Also does anyone know the number or percentage of people new to swimming who have gone on to swim at Nationals?
I swam only for my High School team, an one time on a summer league. I really wish I had the opportunity to swim on a club team growing up let alone swimming on a college team. The colleges I attended did not have swim teams. I do currently swim in competitions held by both US Masters and USA Swimming with a few friends. Obviously USMS has more diverse age groups and skill levels. USAS generally a lot more competitive, but I can keep up. One thing is for sure, it would be great to compete in both USMS and USAS if you are able to.
