2007 SCY Fed Way Nationals Highlights

I really enjoyed the 2007 SCY Nats at Fed Way. It was good seeing old friends and making some new ones. I wanted to share some of my raves and kudos - 1. The meet organizers did an outstanding job and the meet was very well run. The facility is truly amazing. 2. On the third day, during the National Anthem, the microphone cut out on an 11 (or 12 year old) female swimmer (who has a beautiful voice and a possible future on American Idol). The audience picked up the remaining stanzas and the combined voices of the swimmers, timers and officials was truly moving. 3. Outstanding swims by established stars: Pipes-Neilsen, Val, McConica, Johnson, Commings, Boak, Kratti, Abrahams, Baker, Von Der Lippe as well as some new speedos: Stevenson, Marshall and Scalise - I hope that I did'nt miss someone. Thanks again to the organizing committee for a great experience!

Our national anthem is so rousing and such a great song - it should be sung that way more often! I was really proud to sing along as usuall and happy not to be the only one singing along for once! To further Kirk's point, I also recall watching the Djang bros swim some impressive races in back-to-back heats yesterday!
