Gold Medal Sponsorship
Gold Medal Sponsors will be recognized in the official program as supporters of Masters swimming, will be entitled to hospitality on deck, including food, and will receive a commemorative gift. Cost is $65 and can be ordered on the meet entry form.
At USMS Nationals, as a way to generate revenue and to provide services to the participants, often the host will set up a hospitality room, where swimmers can get out of the heat (or cold), sit down and relax and get something to eat or drink. For example, last year at Coral Springs, I would eat breakfast and lunch in the hospitality room and not need to leave the pool to hunt for restaurants. They put on a great spread! Also, it allowed me to keep out of the sun and heat.
And while heat and the sun will not likely be a problem at Federal Way, I’ll sign up again this year, it’s a bargain and it helps the meet. For more details, if needed, contact the meet directors Jane or Hugh Moore.
I highly recommend it. I've done it at my last 2 Nationals and enjoyed it very much. Just the access to the food makes it worthwhile but in FL the A/C was a godsend. Usually there is a special indicator or tag for your credentials to get into the hospitality room. All the other swimmers can see you are a Gold Metal Sponsor, too. Makes you feel kinda special and the money goes to a good cause anyway.
I would highly recommend it too! The spread at last years nationals in Coral Springs was great and there was plenty available. They brought out lunch just before my heat of the 1650 so I had to wait until I was done and warmed down but they still had plenty left by the time I was able to finally get in and get some lunch.

Gold Medal Sponsorship Program is a great way to support the meet. I’ve done the Gold Medal Sponsorship in the past two Nationals I’ve gone. The one problem was, in Coral Springs, very few of vegetarian food. :dunno:

Consider it a donation to the USMS and Local Organizing Committee. Very worthwhile, and considering the amount of money most of us spend to fly out to the meet, stay at a motel etc, it's a minimal added expense that really supports USMS.
Hmm...each poster agrees on the value of this "donation". Just think, if everyone who attended the meet were to be a Gold Medal Sponsor, we could all probably eat like kings!!:drink:
