I noticed that Team Scoring has traditionally been divided into Small, Medium, and Large Teams for Men, Women, and Combined scores. However, this division into different team sizes seems to have stopped at the 2005 Nationals. Can someone please verify whether or not scoring will be divided into small, medium, and large teams this year.
THANKS!!

Not.
No small, medium or large but "Top Ten banners" are awarded (I believe).
Thanks Jim,
Do you know if the Top 10 banners are for men, women, and combined teams, or just the combined?
Bonus question: Any idea why they did away with the team divisions?
Thanks again.
The current rule on Team Awards for National Championships is: The organization conducting the national championship meet shall provide awards to the first through tenth place winners in the women’s, men’s and combined categories.
This rule was adopted at the 2004 USMS Convention. The Championship Committee felt that the method of categorizing team divisions in Large, Medium, and Small categories was flawed. Some teams were asking swimmers not to attend National Championships or to attend unattached so as not to place the team in a different team size division.
Thanks Barry! That makes complete sense as to why they got rid of the sizing categories. Good news to hear they give those team awards for the gender divisions.

That is pretty rediculous. Good thing the rules were amended to fix that.
There are all kinds of ways to brag about how well your team did at nationals.
One thing I like doing is seeing how many points per swimmer each team is earning. Of course when a team has only one person who is phenominal, it kind of offsets that, but this way a team with ~8-10 participants can handicap themselves against the huge state-wide teams.
