Ok, so it's more than a year away... but I had a couple of questions I wanted to throw out to anyone who can answer them.
Is the meet next year going to be at the Hall of Fame pool? Someone once said that there was a new pool being built in Ft. Lauderdale that could be hosting it.
Secondly, can someone put up the link again that stated the order of events for the next six or so LC and SC nationals? Thanks!
It's never too early to plan... especially when you want to make sure that you don't repeat your horrible performance from the year before!
Michael is correct that the house of delegates at the annual convention makes the final decision on the order of events. Tyically every three years, the championship committee submits a series of schedules for the house to select from. Three are chosen and used in a the rotation listed above.
The exception occurs when the bidder decides they wish to run a 5-day meet rather than a 4-day meet. At this time, we have no standard 5-day schedules, so if the bid is successful, we have to make one up. This happened last year for Rutgers and will happen again for the Mission Viejo meet in 2005. The host club working with their liaison to the championship committee comes up with a schedule. It is submitted to the championship committee. From there it goes to the house of delegates for approval.
For the Mission Viejo meet in summer 2005, we are in the middle of this process. The schedule will be finalized this fall at the annual convention.
