Ok, so it's more than a year away... but I had a couple of questions I wanted to throw out to anyone who can answer them. Is the meet next year going to be at the Hall of Fame pool? Someone once said that there was a new pool being built in Ft. Lauderdale that could be hosting it. Secondly, can someone put up the link again that stated the order of events for the next six or so LC and SC nationals? Thanks! It's never too early to plan... especially when you want to make sure that you don't repeat your horrible performance from the year before!
  • When we were in Ft L for Y Nat's less than two weeks ago, they indicated that the meet will be in the current pool. I have seen the list that shows the rotation of the order of events, I just can't find it using SEARCH. I think Mary Pohlman has it handy because she just ran a post the other day which indicated the order for a meet down the line, can't remember.
  • Bill- Look under 4/27, the posting called 2005 USMS Nationals under the category "Nationals"- by MPohlmann It gives the order of events for Ft L if the rule book is followed and gives the page of the rule book that shows the entire rotation. And the rule book is online
  • Rob, Where's the 200 *** for schedule 2? Maybe I just missed it. Day 3 appears a little brief. Jim

The Championship Committee shall decide how national qualifying times will affect the entry.
  • Notice that it says "bid." That only gets you into the bidding process. Does the bidder really care that much for a particular schedule to risk having the Championships Committee say "no." Of course, the winning bidder could come back and make an argument for a particular schedule and if it is reasonable, the committee may vote to send it to the House. In any case is the House of Delegates that makes the final decision about the order of events. Why would you want to make a change in the Meet Schedule? (This is said by a person who when the meet schedule comes up for discussion, tends to roll his eyes and get some sleep). michael

Whoops.. That's where the copy/paste broke off and I had to do 2 sections and combine them into one. Must have overlapped them. It should be fixed now. Rob

To my knowledge there isn't a preset orer of events for nationals. It changes slightly from year to year. There are guidelines abuot the order of events, but they allow room to play, and it's up to each event's host to come up with the final order of events.

Yes.. And no. According to rule 104.5.2D - Alternative Meet Schedules - A meet bidder may, with the approval of the Championship Committee, bid for a national championship with a different schedule from those defined in 104.5.2A (the one I just posted above). There is a preset order, though I think it's fairly rare that a bidder uses anything different that what is presented in the rules. Rob
