Tom Malchow has his weekly journal up on the USA Swimming website, and in his most recent entry, he mentions how at the Doc Counsilman Classic last weekend (which was held at the IUPUI Natatorium), "the air and water temperature seemed cold, as it always does there".
I do want to mention that his previous journal entry mentioned how he suffers from being underweight, and how one symptom of that is being cold all the time.
For those swimming at this pool in a couple weeks, I would suggest bringing some warm clothes on deck just in in case the cool temperature could bother you as well.
I have to agree with Dorothy and Bill. The water temperature was about the same in October and July, as in cold. Great temp for one race. Bone-chilling, over the course of a full day.
I was at the meet this past weekend. The competition pool was a great temperature. The warm-up/down pool (diving well) was a bit warm. The deck temperature was a bit cold but not freezing. You'll be fine with dry clothes and bring extra towels.
Get excited about INDY 2 more weeks.
