Does anyone know if there is a shuttle that goes from the airport to ASU?
I will be arriving tomorrow and most likely won't have anyone to pick me up so I could use any information I can get on how to get there from the airport.
Thanks.
I guess I should also mention that I won't be staying at a hotel, so I couldn't use their shuttle.
If u have a hotel that has a shuttle and u can check on that at the airport, U can call ur hotel and they will send a shuttle to pick u up at the airport.
This is from the Meet Info that was in SWIM magazine:
Ground Transportation
Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport is only a 5-mile taxi ride from the hotels. Some hotels will provide shuttle service. Transportation will also be provided from the airport to all hotels by the Super Shutle Company. To make a reservation for a spot in one of their vans, call (800)654-2240. Hertz is the official rental car supplier for the meet. When making reservations, use the ID number CV#022Q1147 to receive discounted rates.
Amber,
For the one time trip you're contemplating, it would probably be easiest for you to just "grab a cab". The one-way trip in a taxi sounds to be near ten bucks or thereabouts. I'd also bet there will be other swimmers on your plane or in the airport you may be able to hitch a ride with. Good luck!
The two best choices two consider would be either a cab or Super Shuttle, which are the bright blue vans driving around the airport. Super Shuttle may be a little cheaper than a cab, but you might have to wait longer and take a longer route to get to ASU if there are other stops on the way. ASU is very close to the airport (you can see the aquatic center from the plane during approach if you are flying in from the east) which is nice because the fare should be somewhere from $10-15.
My experience in Pheonix with just "grabbing a cab" did not work well this past fall. They didn't have cabs waiting for people at the airport. I had to have someone call for one once I arrived. And then had to wait 40 minutes until the cab arrived. I would have been better off taking the hotel shuttle.
