Allen nailed it. The best events to swim are the ones you like the most! I'm slow at butterfly, but I love swimming it, so I always sign up for the 200 fly.
It's your first meet; don't worry about your race times or how you place in your race. Just go out and have fun! Having said that, I would recommend deciding on your race line up now and then doing some practice sessions where you swim those races in order.
