I think the meet is a good idea. I’m in better shape than for the last one where I had swum one week before the meet. Don’t plan to shave and taper for it though.

No one but me seems interested in this thread, but I enterred today. If you enter you might as well enter from your phone as you cannot view or enter results from a computer.
It doesn't really excite me too much. I did some events for the one last summer and it wasn't really any more motivational than a lactate set. I guess that's what happens when I'm pretty much the only one in my workout group interested in racing regularly.
I find it more motivational than a lactate set, though maybe not much. When we had major meets I would point my preparation for the meet and use local meets to guage my progress and readiness. We don't have local meets and major meets are up in the air so I am using this meet to see how/if I am recovering from the long layoff. It's better tthan nothing(except for the frustration that you have to link with swim.com and then go through some non-intiutive steps to record a result and then again to see how it compares to others etc etc.)
Looking at the results, several times are from smart watches or something similar. How does that work and is it accurate?
On my Garmin, I believe the accelerometer detects turns fairly accurately, but I have to push a button to start and stop the interval so that's where the margin of error comes in.
Allen Stark you can view the results from a desktop but you need your phone and the Swim.com app to enter the events (after you link your accounts). Here are the results on desktop:

Further review of times shows several that seem unlikely. They are all from smart watches, hmmm
My limited experience is that the swim watches do fine enough in open water, but are highly suspect in the pool. Though I totally dislike the 'form factor' of the Form goggles (too bulky), those are very good at actually recording times in the pool.
None of these - smart goggles or watches - though seem to be able to measure when you're kicking or doing drills.
I have enjoyed many virtual OW events and think the watches are geared for those, and I do appreciate the effort of event organizers to try to create virtual pool events, but we just need to get back to racing IRL.
I tried to check the results today and it seems something is wrong with the site
Seems to be working for me. Which event did you have issues viewing=: https://www.swim.com/challenge/results/79
