9th Annual Ross Yancher Brute Squad ePostal Swim

This traditional DAM event has a new identity in recognition of it's founder, Ross Yancher. Ross, the Davis Aquatic Masters head coach from 1981 to 1988, passed away late last year and the event was renamed in his memory. 11324 For nearly a decade, DAM has been challenging USMS members to be a brute ... what's a brute? Well, the Brute Squad event takes the three most difficult events in swimming: the 200 butterfly, the 400 IM, and the 1650 freestyle, and combines them into a single event! Start the clock. Swim a 200 fly. Then a 400 IM. Follow that up with a 1650 free. Stop the clock. Ready? Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Not, really. Over the past eight years, nearly 1,000 USMS members have competed in the event and from those results an original TOP TEN TIMES list was compiled. Whether you're a past competitior and want to see where you rank or interested in swimming for the first time, use the links below to see where you stand or to plan your pacing in advance. 2017 Registration Current Meet Records Split Sheet All time TOP TEN Brute Squad planner Interested in finding out more or have any questions? • Did this Ross coach in the Denver area in the early 80s? I swear that was the name of my age group coach when I was like 11-13. If so, wild character. We used to have Donut relays (Masters had Kahlua and coffee relays) and donut particles were all over the pool (swim 50 meters swallow 1 donunt hole, swim 50 meters...up to 4 donut holes). Good luck with your event.
