Swim a Mile for Lung Cancer -- Postal

The 2016 Jon Steiner Postal Memorial Pool Mile began Jan. 1 and runs through Feb. 29. It is a perfect way to help lose those extra holiday pounds. All you need is a pool at least 25 yards in length (25m or 50m is fine too) and someone to time for you. Looking for a 2 for 1? If you enter the USMS National Postal hour swim, just submit your mile split. So easy to do. There is no set entrance fee. You decide what you want to pay. Half of all funds collected from this swim go to Bonnie J Adario Lung Cancer Research. New this year -- if you want to dedicate your swim in honor of a loved one, let us know. Your honoree’s name will be given to BJA and a certificate will be mailed to you. Last year, TAM raised almost $2,500 to fight lung cancer. This is the 20th year for the event. Jon Steiner was a long-time member of Tamalpais Aquatic Masters (TAM), San Rafael and active with local and national Masters Swimming committees. Jon lost his battle with lung cancer in 2006.
