Fast & fun Fall swimming in Arizona

While lots of people loved swimming in the Arizona sunshine at spring Nationals in Mesa ('11) and Tempe ('03), I still think that the fall is the best time to race here. We've got a great line up of events coming up - 4 of them sanctioned and listed on www.azlmsc.org and one still in the works. If you're looking for some great weather, great pools and fun times, consider one or more of these meets: Sunday, September 29th - Phoenix Swim Club Pentathlon (SCY) See what you're missing? Saturday, October 12th - SCM at Flagstaff's world-renowned aquatic center Come test yourself at the high altitude training facility used by many of the world's elite swimmers Sleep in and be wide awake for the 1pm warmup time Order of events include fun things like 25s and a 50 kick! Enjoy a social after the meet and/or make a weekend of it in one of the coolest mountain college towns in the country Sunday, November 3rd - SCM at Mesa's Kino Aquatic Center Same great pool as for 2011 Spring Nationals, but set up for super-wide SCM lanes Photo opportunities with the one and only Paul Smith -- and possibly a rare sighting of him actually racing Sunday, November 10th - Phoenix Swim Club (SCY) Let's hope it doesn't come to pass, but this might be one of your last chances to race in this historic pool Maybe we can get them to arrange some sort of "SwimSwam" vs "Swimming World" grudge match pitting Garrett McCaffrey vs Jeff Commings (though, what event actually would make sense for these two studs, I don't know) Saturday & Sunday, November 23rd and 24th - Ron Johnson/ Southwest Zone SCM Championships Held at the recently refurbished Mona Plummer Aquatic Center at ASU in Tempe, host of 2003 SCY Nationals Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning session This meet usually draws a great crowd and some fast times in a fast, deep pool
