For those of you who aren't a fan of the order of events this year, I'm sorry. There's always someone who doesn't like the order. We mix it up every year for variety. We've never done the same order of events twice. Here's some information from our online FAQ:
www.meetresults.com/.../faq.shtml
Q: I don't like the order of events. I never like the order of events!
A: We're sorry. We realize that we can't make everyone happy all of the time. Every year, the order of events is changed. We try to put different events on different days each year. We try to change which events are on the same day each year. We almost never have the same two events back-to-back. The order of events follows some basic rules to keep things evenly distributed:
The 1000 free and 1650 free switch order each year
The women's and men's 500 free, and the 400 IM switch days each year
The 100 IM, 200 IM, and 400 IM are each on different days (one IM event each day)
The 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free are each on different days
For the stroke events (back, ***, fly), the 50, 100 and 200 of each stroke are on different days. Also, each day has a 50 of one stroke, a 100 of another stroke, and a 200 of the third stroke.
The 50 free, 200 free relay, and 200 medley relay are on different days (so there are three different days to swim a 50 free)
The 100 free, 400 free relay, and 400 medley relay are on different days (so there are three different days to swim a 100 free)
The 200 free and 800 free relay are on different days (so there are two different days to swim a 200 free)
We hope that if you don't like the order of events this year, then hopefully you will like the order of events next year better.
Rick,
I couldn't be happier with the order of events this year. I was worried the men's 500 would be on Saturday when I have to coach. I had a great time last year and I'm looking forward to this year.

To me, the order of events almost never comes into play. I cannot remember a time where there wasn't enough rest before the next event. My recollection is that the only time you swim events close together is because you just swam in a relay. I could be wrong though...
I am about to enter! I haven't competed in Masters in over 12 yrs!! The adrenaline is starting to flow and I'm getting excited. I have never been to Harvard.....any tips as to navigating the pool facility and having my hubby and 3 kids with us? And the best place/hotel to stay?
I'm in too! Dreams of tapering dancing in my head :carolers:
E - the meet website is pretty straightforward with info on parking and directions. Last year we stayed at the Residence Inn Cambridge (5 people, breakfast and afternoon cookies/coffee included, piling into one room), a quick drive to the pool or you can catch the T less than two blocks from the hotel - a good warmup walk. There is plenty of seating for family, and if anyone needs to stretch their legs there is room to roam outside (my son brought his basketball and played hoops in the gym next door). You're going to do great!
The regular entry deadline is approaching later this week. If we hit our "full" capacity earlier, we will close down entries early.
If you want to attend this meet this year, please get your entries in quickly, or you may miss out!

Though it was a couple of weeks ago, I'd like to comment on the SCY championships.
The meet was run really well and as far as I could tell, went off without a hitch. There seemed to be less room on the deck than last year (looks like some acquisitions of stuff like an endless pool for the swim team took some space) so our small group wound up in the stands above the starting blocks. No problem, I got some work done. I didn't swim all that well, but that was no fault of how the meet was run...
Really nice job, Rick. It was also good to say hello finally!
