www.centerlakewarsaw.com/index.html Warsaw Aqua Mile Time Trial Open Water Swim June 18, 2011 Check in 6:15 AM – 7:15 AM (All swimmers must check in at the starting location at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled start of the race) Warm-ups 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM Pre Race Briefing 7:45 AM – 8:00 AM Start at 8:15 AM Wave One – Wetsuit Wave Two – Swimsuit Entries Open & Deadline: Entries must be submitted no earlier than March 15, 2011 and no later than June 6, 2011. Day of registration will be allowed; however, day of registrations may not receive a T-shirt or medal. Winning Times - Time will be marked via electronic stopwatch. The fastest time marks the winning time and subsequent times finish in chronological order. Host - Center Lake Conservation Association, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 Location - Center Lake, Warsaw, Indiana. The lake temperature is usually between 68º and 72º during this time of year. It’s going to feel great. Center Lake is pristine and many families rely on the lake water for recreation. Currents are minimal, flowing in the direction of the wind. Prevailing wind direction varies day to day. Weather - Check www.weather.com for wind speed and direction. Event Cancellation – In the event of bad weather, the event will be postponed. An exact date will be forthcoming (September?). If a date cannot be set, refunds will be issued to swimmers upon request. Course - 1 mile triangle shaped course open water swim one lap start to on beach finish. Event Logistics - The race will begin in the water, swimmers will tread water before proceeding west, and then north, and then south on a course marked with corner buoys followed by an out of the water beach finish where finishing times will be marked using an electronic stop watch. Start – in water start by category; wetsuit 1st then swimsuit Time Limits - The 1 mile time trial race will end 60 minutes after the start of the race. After 60 minutes all swimmers who have not completed the course will be kindly asked to retire. Refreshment - Drinks and snacks will be provided to swimmers after the race. Eligibility – On the day of the event swimmers age of 11 years old and older are eligible for this event. Warm up – Come early to loosen up….
