Boston Light Swim 14 Aug. 2010

I am still marveling over the wonderful swims available in Alaska and find it a bit heretical to post "on top" of Grumpy Tuna's nice Sitka swim report, but I haven't heard much talk of the Boston Light Swim this year. Any forumites doing the oldest sanctioned OW swim in North America next weekend? www.bostonlightswim.org/

This year Boston Light Swim could not have been better. Well, maybe the water could have been a little warmer. The water was around 58 degrees at the start and warmed up to 62-63 degrees as the swimmers got closer to the finish. The weather was perfect, 83 degrees, with very little wind. I was a fast, close race. The first 3 solo swimmers were within seconds of eachother. It was almost a running race at the end. 20 of 25 solo swimmers finished the swim. The NY CIBBOWS group had a great showing and they were a lot of fun. Below are the results: Solo Swimmer Results with age and time: 1. Elizabeth Mancuso, 24, 2:42:15 2. Dori Miller, 39, 2:42:45 3. Lance Ogren, 39, 2:42:57 4. Robert Fernald, 43, 2:52:35 5. Davis Lee, 35, 2:58:23 6. Humphrey Bohan, 35, 2:58:43 7. Dave Barra, 45, 3:00:31 8. Don MacDonald, 48, 3:01:08 9. Douglas McConnell, 52, 3:08:49 10. Sheryl Bierden, 37, 3:15:57 11. Eileen Burke, 47, 3:24:23 12. Kyle Murray, 51, 3:30:22 13. Kim Garbarino, 52, 3:39:26 14. Mike Hodel, 33, 3:39:58 15.
