Looking ahead to 2012, they have posters here in Sweden about the next FINA Masters to be held in Riccione, Italy. I went there when they held it in 2004 and had a great time. The dates are June 2-16, 2012.

Are there some typos in there? The Men's 100 Back time is 5 sec. faster for a 45 yr old than a 40 yr old (1:20.19 vs. 1:15.14) as is the 200 free (2:29.94 vs. 2:24.84). A few others look a little strange, just not that extreme. Some significant changes from 2010 in Sweden.

my understanding is that the qualifying times reflect the previous years swimming so maybe in general people in the 45-49 age group are currently swimming faster than the 40-44
I'd love to go, but unless I can provide a family holiday in addition, which may be unlikely next year, I think my life may not be worth living. The kids will be in school, and anyway my wife would not regard coming with me to the worlds as a family holiday!

and now the Swedish swimming union just came out with a package deal for us in Sweden. approx $1250/per for flight and hotel (with breakfast), plus transportation to and from the airport.
