1st Annual Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic

Shoort Course Meters October 17th & 18th at the YMCA Aquatic Center, Orlando FL
  • Hey, is that the old Justus Aquatic Center?
  • I think it is the old Justus Aquatic Center. The meet entry form is up; I went through the USMS calander of events. Would someone double check - I didn't see the 100 IM!!!
  • No 100 IM is a REAL bummer!!!!
  • What is with the 30 buck registration fee and then 2.5 for each event.
  • Am I missing something else? Are the longest distances the 400 free and 400IM? I'll miss those distance events. heehee Price is a wash - Rowdy is giving a free clinic, if I read the entry correctly. That makes it totally worth it! Justus also brings back wonderful memories for me too! I swam my speediest 50 free lifetime best, made it to finals, and then GOT CUT OFF from TV coverage because I was in Lane 1, the camera track was right on the deck and could only get lanes 2-8, what a total bummer!!! HEE-larious! We have lots of choices for a 2 or 2/1 day format SCM meet this season....too many choices!! How can I pick just one???!!!

I swam in the very FIRST meet at Justus! Now that's funny! I also did a swim camp or two there in my early teen years.
  • i spent 16 yrs of my life in that pool. it WAS Justic, then orlando aquatic center and is now operated by YMCA. it is one of the few scm meets in the dixie zone. however;, the meet is in the diving well , not the main comp pool. btw, you ought to swim in ga, i have paid 25 or more for meets, if you only swim 2 events it isn't worth it. orlando, has attractions etc... airport is ez to get in and out, unlike atl airport. i am planning on going.
  • Sending my entries in today for this. This looks like fun, especially when combined with the Aquaball @ Sea World and the post-meet clinic with Rowdy.
  • The 100 IM is back in. Go to the Dixie zone website for the new registration forms. http://www.dixiezone.org/
