There is going to be a Short Course Meters Meet at Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, AZ) on Sunday October 19th. This will be at the Wall Aquatics Center, which is used extensively by world-class swimmers as a high-altitude training center.
How high you ask? About 7000' give or take...
There will be a clinic and pasta feast on the Saturday before the meet, which should be a good time as well. It will be a fairly small meet but if you want to test your aerobic fitness and are in the area, this may be a good one for you.
The official entry form will be up shortly, just gotta check the links first.
No thanks, don't wanna die like a dog at that altitude :cane: but it does sound like fun. Wish I was closer.
Flagstaff is a cool town, literally. I was just camping up there last weekend at 8200' and it was cold! It was in the mid-40's at night and in the low 80's during the day. When I got back to Phoenix it was in the low 100s...
Nice pool, good people, and a lot of fun.
