I see on www.azlmsc.org/events.htm that there is a meet in Tempe in late june and a meet at the Brophy pool in late july.
How are temps in late June? I think I know the answer for late July. Is the brophy pool indoors or outdoors?

temps in late June can be 100-120 depending on whether it's Tucson or Phoenix and depending on exact weather conditions. Locals will tell you that it's a dry heat, however. That just means that it sucks all of the moisture out of your body, as opposed to, say, Houston where it may be over 100 and 100% humidity.
Brophy is an outdoor pool. Most in AZ are outdoor pools.

120 is a bit warm, but I lived in Ogden, UT for two years, so I'm somewhat used to heat and it doesn't bother me as much as humidity (I also used to live in northern VA).
My truck's frame was dipped in wax during assembly as a corrosion prevention measure (or just a gimmick), and I remember seeing the wax dripping off back in Utah, to tell you how hot it gets there.
We've swam a the July meets here in Az for the past few years....even the one where the temps hit a record high of 120 a couple years back (SVDL broke the 200 fly wr at that one).
Is it hot...very...unbearable no (lots of shade, swamp coolers). In fact for any out of towners the "off season" down here means incredible rates at some of the top resorts in the world, cheap golf, great happy hours, virtually no snow birds or college students.
They've got the 6/29 Tempe meet program info posted on www.azlmsc.org now. I like the facility, like visiting Arizona, and this meet is soon enough before nationals to possibly get more NQTs. My temptation is to enter the max number of events since I'm going a quite a ways to show up (I'll be spending time on other things in AZ as well though). But maybe just the 800 and 200 free would be a better plan so I can get out of there before I fry.

The order of events looks great (ie, lots of rest between the 50's), but alas, the 50 free is the last event and may be an issue since I would fly out on Sunday. Typically, how long do the AZ state meets last? I'd try to fly out on the 5:30pm flight but I like getting to the airport 2 hours early. Maybe I should enter the 200 free and get a split.

I would doubt this meet will go past 1-2pm both Saturday & Sunday.
I'll be at the 6/29 meet at ASU. I'm signing up for the 200, 400, and 50 free, and 100 fly. I'm not sure I can even complete 100 meters of fly, so I'm going to have to work on that. We've had such miserable weather in Seattle lately that I am totally unfazed by the prospect of hot weather in Phoenix. I can handle it!
