So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
My most recent swim happy was last weekend. I swam in the Chattanooga River Rat “race” for 4.5 miles. Not only did I maintain a steady clip for most of the way AND managed to pick it up the last 500 or so, but not one negative self talk nonsense entered into my head the entire swim. (How odd is that?!!). No wonder I enjoyed it! It’s been a long time since I talked nice to myself. 😊

Good job, Celestial! It's amazing how much the mind can be your greatest muscle in a race, especially a longer one.
Aw thanks folks. I read every post here, and I want to say "great work" to every one, but that would be too much, right?
(Come to think of it, maybe I post here too much. Maybe I should do a weekly summary of my happiness?) :)
Well......off to the pool for 200m day.......
I'm happy that I will never swim in the Palm Beach area at 5am.
(Too soon?) :)
Thanks Mods for all that you do.
LOL!
In other news, I'm happy because I feel like I'm getting used to long course swimming again.
