So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
Elaine, I'm happy for you!!! I'm glad your healing is going well, plus nothing beats swimming outside in Florida!!! Keep up the great work!
+1 Very happy for your Elaine!
WooHOO! I saw my surgeon today, and he released me to return to competition (except no breaststroke kick yet). I'm five weeks ahead of his original schedule for me! :ohyeah:

YAHOO!!!
Wow, we have not a a Swim Happy in a while.
Today a High School Freshman (water polo) who wanted to race me, I suggested a 200 IM (he won, not by much) during part of our workout, he told me I gave him a pretty good run for his money. He stated he would be dropped from his team if anyone found out if I would have won. As it was, it was probably pretty embarrassing to him that I was keeping up with him. It was all in good fun.
I believe I would have won our little race if I had not sprained my ankle this past Sunday, climbing over some rocks at the beach to do some open water swimming. Ankle still hurts a little, but I am working out the ankle in the pool. I am going easy on my turns at the wall, so I am a little slower off the wall at the moment.
Way to go, Bill! Doesn't it feel great to be able to swim that well against a high school stud?
Yeah, it was fun racing the guy. The weird thing is that my butterfly has improved since I sprained my ankle. Perhaps because I am more aware of my legs since the sprain this past Sunday.
Almost forgot, I had just finished swimming 1500 meters before that little 200 IM race. Just to put that into perspective.
Told to me by two ladies at the pool today in my adult community: "Last week during water aerobics class, one of the ladies was watching you do your yoga exercises after you swam and said, "I've seen that young girl at the pool before. She must be visiting her GRANDparents this summer.' " (I'm 54, and I will be a senior citizen in January!)
:lmao: :groovy: :bliss:
