So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
That Guy was pretty impressive at the NW SCM Zone meet over the weekend so he may want to post a Swim Happy, but I have my own from that meet.
400 Mixed Medley Relay of Valerie Jenkins,me,Dennis Baker, and Karen Andrus-Hughes set a new WR in the 200-239 age group going 4:32.My split was 1:14.99 which was about a second faster than I expected:bliss:.
Dennis broke the NR for the 200 Fly and just missed the WR swimming the event literally 5 min. after the relay.

Thanks Allen! Congrats again on your relay record!

:cheerleader:CONGRATULATIONS, KING FROG! :thewave:
...And, to add to the above Swim Happy, I just learned this in an e-mail:
You won the 200 Breaststroke and were also part of the Mixed 200 age 200 Medley relay with Jennifer, Zeigler and Beatty that won. Therefore you earned State Champion status/honors in SCM to go along with the SCY and LCM State Champion Crowns you won at the St pats and UGA meets by sweeping all 3 breaststroke events in your age group.
Me? State Champion?? :lmao:  That just shows how weak our state is in breaststroke, this year, in the W45-49 age group! But, I'll take it anyway! :ohyeah:
What started as a :badday: (tonight's bout of insomnia) turned into a :bliss:when I decided to get up and watch swim videos on the computer. I checked my e-mail and found out that three of the LCM relays I was in made Top Ten rankings, including one that is ranked #3! And, that was the one where the clock kept going for about 20 seconds after our last swimmer came in and had to be manually stopped. (The back-up timers must have been :bed: behind the blocks, as well, because none of them got the correct time, either. :bouncing:)
Congrats! You won the state championships because you swam the events. You can't control what others in your age group do or don't do. You won. Enough said.
Thanks, Wookiee! :)
