Hey can any one give me some info as to a list of suits that are legal for 2010! I have not found any info that is of help. I am doing a 10k race in Aug and don't want to get DQ because of suit stuff. I have a Blueseventy 10k that i did race in last year but think they might be off the list. ANY help any one can give me would be great!!!!

Based on the information provided by the USMS Open Water head, Heather Hagadorn if it is a USMS Championship it is likely that your Blueseventy Nero 10K will be legal.
Belated Newsflash: Nothing has changed for 2010 USMS Open Water Swimwear rules! Nothing will change when/if FINA updates its open water swimwear rules in June!
USMS rules for open water allow for the same swimwear as in 2009. Information regarding legal 2009 swimsuits are located on the Rules Page: http://www.usms.org/rules/.
see Open Water Swimwear for 2010 - U.S. Masters Swimming Discussion Forums
However many butt's. Is the event your doing a USMS Championship or even sanctioned event? Based on how I read the rule on sanctioned non championship events the local director of race can modify suit rules and may preclude the suit. Finally many open water events have no relationship with USMS, USA swimming or FINA for that matter so it is entirely up to the local race director/committee on what suits are legal.
So based on the above posts, whatever is legal now will still be legal after June 1 (meaning B70 Nero Comp, LZR, etc). It would be nice to still be able to use my B70 after SCY Nationals for OW competition this summer.

An example, if you wore a B70 for last years USMS 5K National Championship in Chicago "Big Shoulders" which was legal, you can wear a B70 for this years scheduled USMS National Open Water Championships. However, I'd attempt to get a formal yea or nea from the race director. Remember many of the big and little open water races have no USMS affiliation. For example the La Jolla Rough Water swim. They can go there own way.

Oh. So the fabrics won't have to conform to the new rules, like they previously said?...(for USMS OW races, that is).

now I'm really confused! I thought long legs were still going to be ok, but the rubber fabrics would not ( at least that's what I hope)
I'm thinking of doing the Christiansborg Rundt in Copenhagen, Denmark in August (not as a big a deal as it sounds as I live in Moscow now). The race website says the following:
"Wetsuits are permitted, and for safety reasons the organisers encourage participants to wear them."
I'd like to buy a wetsuit that won't have to be replaced right after buying it. I've been looking at the B70 products (10K looks nice, but I can't find it anywhere online). This back and forth by FINA is making it really confusing. I just need a tech suit/wetsuit for OW events...suggestions?
instead of taking a trip over to denmark for the christianborg rundt, about 300-400 swimmers, you should make the trip to Vansbro in july where there will be over 9,000 swimmers of which about 5,000 will swim the 3km race.
