You probably know what's coming next.
Should I have genuine concerns about having my leg ripped off by a shark, while in the sea? I want to start getting some open water swims in, but being in FL., I'm a bit nervous about it.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Do you know the last time a person was killed by a shark in RI?
If the last time you heard about a shark while you were swimming was 1972, I'm still not worried.
Besides I stay much closer to shore than Block Island Sound.
