will once again be held at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 2008 Trials set a new standard for swimming excitement and 2012 promises to bring even more poolside thrills to America's Heartland.

anyone know what the cutoff is for 5k? maybe i can walk on and get a team jacketSince there is no 5k in Olympic Swimming, may I assume you are looking for Track & Field?
If you meant the 10K swim, then you already missed the Open Water trials. To have been eligible to compete at the Open Water trials (the cutoffs), you would have needed to 1) place top 10 at last year’s nations 10K, 2) Finish in the top 15 in a FINA 10K or 3) meet the 800/1500 time standard (8:27/16:14).
It's never too early to start training for Rio.

But other than that it was a foolproof plan!
IIRC, he got training after Sydney and actually got fairly respectable- something like 56-57 for 100 free LCM. But his federation wouldn't send him to Athens because they didn't want him to get laughed at again.
