One fear that I have about the upcoming Olympics TV coverage is that too much time will be spent over-explaining the tech suit drama.

It shouldn't talked about with 2+ years into the ban. If that happens, I might have to watch it on mute as well. The bigger story is alot of late 20, early 30 something swimmers competing in London.

The stories I want to hear about at trials are the ones about even older swimmers, such as Dara Torres and Jeff Commings making cuts.
That is a great article. Thanks for posting it! On the other hand, some of the comments on there absolutely piss me off.
Count me as yet another one hoping Phelps swims the 400 IM.
edit: I also hope, for Phelps' sake, that none of his competitors find that new journal he's been keeping...

Fans will be able to watch... live online for the first time during this summer's London Games... NBC executives decided to shift from their longtime philosophy and make every event available as it happens, convinced that the plan will build interest in the Olympics and not siphon off viewership from the traditional nightly broadcasts. That means the Internet streams will be fairly minimalistic, a move aimed at tempting fans to re-watch the competition in a more stylized presentation on the network that evening.
