2012 Olympics: Swimming

The 2012 schedule shows a 10K marathon in swimming (Aug 9 women, 8/10 men). Is that new? Or, have I just not paid attention? For 8 years Netherlands won gold so it must have been a part of the games at that time.

I'm a little curious if phelps is going to pull off the same medal count in London as he did bejing. that would be quite a feat, winning 8 medals in 7 events.

I can't wait for the 2015 pan am games. Most of the aquatics will be held at my old university. I suppose Ill have to settle for London for now.

For 8 years Netherlands won gold so it must have been a part of the games at that time. Thanks. My bad. Too much working/travel, getting kids through college etc... ie not paying attention. I always just looked to watch the 1500, since that best mirrors my daily workout. (Of course I'm a little more committed since I spend a whole 30 min on MY 1500, not just a measly 15min like those guys.):):cane:
