Wow! The water temp is 58f and these guys are going to swim one hour legs. The previous record was about 78 miles and in warmer water.

Wow, this is pretty unbelievable. I live just north of the area these guys started their swim out from - it is not warm at all. The fact that these guys went on so little sleep too - couldn't have gotten more then a few hours at a time. Amazing.
This was impressive on a number of levels. Not just physically, but the planning and logistics, too. These guys should write a book about it. I'd at least like to see a story about it in SWIMMER!
Is 1 hour the required time per swim, or can you do say 1.5 hour? One gets you 4.5 hours of sleep, the other 7. But maybe it doesn't work that way.
Battling the water temp is what gets me! Yikes.
