Extra marital affairs in masters swimming have happened and will continue to happen. When two people share a common interest and spend time together, bonding takes place and sometimes emotional and physical affairs result. There's plenty of opportunity around training and even more at meets & conventions.
Sometimes these affairs are just one night drunken flings. Sometimes they are long term.
Did your affair help your swimming or hurt it?
Did it add extra stress to your life?
How did you deal with all the emotions from it?
How did it start? How did it end? When did it change?

Guess we need to keep our language pg.
I know I've engaged in lots of inappropriate touching during open water swim starts with both sexes. I have to say that it's a little rough for my tastes. I usually can't wait to get to the outside and go solo.
:dj_dance:
Hey, is this another new Smilie(ssssss)? How did I miss this one?
In all seriousness - I remember my first ever meet (Illinois State Masters Meet) during warm up I was pretty much touched in more places than I knew I had on my body. The lanes were a little thin! :help:
Backstroke is very conducive to inappropriate touching, which is one of the reasons why I don't engage in it very often. I had my rather substantial buttocks firmly cupped by a lanemate once during a backstroke set, necessitating a cigarette break. Most unhealthy.
That reminds me of an awkward moment...not as a masters swimmer though.
I think it was around summer 1983, Westchester County Championships in RYE, NY. I was walking on the deck in my speedo and felt someone pinch me. I turned and saw a vision...Regina (leave out last name), catholic school girl who swam on my AAU winter team, and was a year older than I. I was 15 but still a bit shy around girls, especially older ones.
Had I known then what I know now...
I guess it's not limited to masters.
Hey it's only masters...
Let's be real here. Swimming is a fruity activity to begin with; just look at some innocent every day terms:
Breaststroke
Undulation
Going Hypoxic
Long Pull Outs
Stroke Rate
Strokes per length
Maintain a tight streamline after entry
The Grab
I mean the opportunity for double entendre (not Leo Letendre) is endless...
Of course, you should always aim for a finger-first entry.
And don't forget to finish hard at the end.
