1. You open the door to the pool and get that first whiff of chlorine and think to yourself, "I love the smell of chlorine in the morning!"
2. Your new issue of Swimmer Magazine arrives :bliss: and you immediately sit down and read it cover to cover (including the ads!). But, then, the realization sets in that now you have to wait two months until the NEXT issue arrives.
3. You find yourself counting strokes instead of sheep to fall asleep at night. Then, just when you're about to fall asleep, instead of your leg twitching a little bit, it does a full whip kick :afraid:, and you ride the glide to slumberland... :bed:
Now it's your turn...
you're the only masters swimmer left stealing that last lane at age group practice because they were only being kind to allow a lane for masters and the coach seems really annoyed you keep showing up..day after day...lap after lap
you put off the decision to colour your hair until after the summer swimming season...
your spouse's birthday present to you is a new swimsuit you buy yourself...
you watch your kids swim, and itch to get in the pool the entire time....
there's an empty lane at the kid's swim practice for a week, so you get the OK to use it...
you get up at 5.30 every morning in the summer to swim in the outside pool starting in the dark and sometimes the rain....
you can't wait until the kids are in school again so you can swim at the indoor pool at a more sensible time of day...
its 12pm and the fourth swimming pool you've seen that day...
I'm in trouble. I do this all the time when I'm bored at work (I'm self-employed).
uhh..me too...you should see my desk blotter...
here's another one..lick yourself and smell... ummm chlorine
....you never got a tattoo because the idea of taking a couple of weeks off while it "sets" is just too crazy to contemplate
I just plan my tattoos around the annual pool maintenance in late summer when the pool is closed for 2 weeks. :agree:
Bike Ride Across GA went by your subdivision and I wanted to find your pool to do a few laps...but it was a hot day and I was tired! I did find a pool in Columbus and Tyrone! Sorry I did not meet you at Nationals or at UGA. I swam the long stuff so I could be in the first events and 3 rd or 4th heat! Then I left and visited old friends in Atlanta. Nice being 60 plus! I am back in Colorado and it is hot here also...but it is not humid or buggy.
You swim a hard meet from 1-3:30 and drive 3.5 hours back home only to go to practice to "stretch out" and "practice your off strokes"
OK, Michael, you ARE hooked! By the time I got home, my mind would have been willing, but my body- uh- not so much! :afraid:
