1. You open the door to the pool and get that first whiff of chlorine and think to yourself, "I love the smell of chlorine in the morning!"
2. Your new issue of Swimmer Magazine arrives :bliss: and you immediately sit down and read it cover to cover (including the ads!). But, then, the realization sets in that now you have to wait two months until the NEXT issue arrives.
3. You find yourself counting strokes instead of sheep to fall asleep at night. Then, just when you're about to fall asleep, instead of your leg twitching a little bit, it does a full whip kick :afraid:, and you ride the glide to slumberland... :bed:
Now it's your turn...
When a hotel/casino in Vegas sends you an email titled "FLY BACK FREE" and you think they are having some kind of swimming event only to click on it to see that they are offering to FLY you BACK home FREE. Had to laugh at myself for this one!
When you have to read to the end of another post, before YOU realize it's about a plane, instead of swimming!!!!
Anytime I have a longer break from swimming I start getting dreams about how I try to swim in a pool but there is almost no water in it and I struggle to swim. Kinda weird...
Sometimes I wish this forum had a "like" button like on Facebook!
A bad day in the pool beats a great day at work any time.
If I don't get to swim, it just isn't a good day.
You know you're a swimmer when you start to get antsy about leaving for the pool at "that time". . . even if you PLAN to do something else during your usual swimming time, you feel agitated and have a hard time focusing!

On a related note, when my daughter and I were discussing her best strokes from 1 to 4 and when we realized it was fly back *** free, we cracked up while the rest of the family looked at us with a mixture of sympathy and disdain.
Shortly after swimming the 21 miles between Catalina Island to the California mainland with two friends, the three of you start planning a double crossing for 2011.:)

 :applaud: My favorite OW (very!) long distance swimmer, Lynn Cox, wrote two books about her swimming experiences. I think you would enjoy reading them!
I will never forget growing up on East Beach (Alamitos Bay Peninsula), in Long Beach, and watching Lynn Cox run on the soft sand and swim along the shore, training for her swims. She was in her teens, then, and had an amazing swimming career! :applaud:

So glad to hear that this is normal! I know exaclty the feeling!!
when you're looking for a new apartment and your main focus is based on how near it is to your pool.
or wish that you'd bought a house in the neighboring city so that:
1. you didn't have to drive 20mins to get to the pool
2. membership of the pool/gym would be half the price you're currently paying
