Atlanta Results Thread

USMS Nationals is now well under way in Atlanta. Just a few more heats left in the 1000 free. Use this thread to post any notable results!
  • Thanks! Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you other than a quick introduction. Right after the 200 Free is when I got the stomach bug for the rest of the weekend. Now my parents have it (via my kids, to my wife and I, to them!) :badday:Maybe a quick introduction was best, then. :) See you next year, hopefully- just don't get as fast as you were at metros, please.

tj- that happend to me in the 200 free in the even pool. I was in last heat of my age group in lane 10. Heard the take your mark and i was in my tuck, then started to think man starter is holding us long. I peeked up and saw all the swimmers half way down the pool. Threw my arms up in the air on the block like wtf!!! There was luckily a judge there who said he didnt hear anything. He talked to head judge and they threw me in some heat few heats later. I got to swim race but had no idea who i was swimming against or what they were seeded with. Of course, in the results, they show me as a NS. Ended up doing a 1:49 but feel woulda been few seconds faster if i didnt have to go thru that drama!

Sorry to hear that Greg...I heard from a few people all weekend that those far lanes were a bit hard to hear...luckily...I never had that problem...only problem I had was missing the third wall on my 100 FR...my own fault though, just miss judged the bulkhead...

Brian, I had no idea you were there. I'll check for your results later. Usual events, or did you go to the dark side? Really sorry I missed visiting with you. Rich I did 200/100/50 free. Focused on the 200 and the 100, actually. I split them like a dark sider. Proud of that.
  • Thanks, Alison! I DIED after 100yds. and felt like my legs and arms were heavy weights. When I don't sleep well, I can really feel it in the pool. I KNOW I can do better than I did today, because I have done 200's in practice and felt like I still had something left in the tank. Today I didn't, but at least I beat my seed time. :) YOU had a fantastic meet, Alison, getting PB's left and right! :applaud::applaud::applaud: You ROCK! You are truly an inspiration! :agree: I'm sorry I didn't get to see you today. It sounds like you were long gone before I ever arrived at the pool. I hope you had fun with your family! And, I hope to see you again at another meet; perhaps next year! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :cheerleader: Just remember, if the race didn't hurt, then you didn't swim it hard enough. And the 200 *** is one of the most painful ones. You did great based on your time. We'll see each other again soon, I'm sure. You should think about coming up for Colonies Zones. One big party with many that you met (even Stud).

They said take your mark, I go down....hold...I start to relax and BEEP! I got a really crappy start, but was THRILLED with the end result.
  • There was lots of room in the 65+ lane. Rich, I'm sure you were carded a few times :) Great job, and it was nice meeting you.
  • Rich, I'm sure you were carded a few times :) Great job, and it was nice meeting you. They carded 77 year old Bumpy Jones in that lane. He thanked them :)
  • I don't know why you guys are whining about the warmup lanes. There was lots of room in the 65+ lane. Rich Best. Line. Ever.
