Anyone going to NELMSC SCY at Harvard in Cambridge MA?

Just wondering if any forum-ites will be there. I'll be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday next week. I'll keep my eyes open for familiar names....
  • I just reviewed the meet results, that's a big meet.
  • We had entries from 1064 swimmers this year. Not everyone showed up. Our largest meet in New England before this year was 859 entered swimmers. All said and done, we had almost 38 hours of competitive swimming. (I.e., time running swimming races, not including warmup time.) -Rick
  • Totally agree with all the comments about how well the meet was run. I was there on distance day and Sat/Sun. Despite it's size, Rick and his team made sure that everything moved smoothly. Great job (well, really, an amazing job) to Rick, his staff, and all of the officials.
  • I have been to hundreds of age group meets with my kids and only a few Masters meets, but this is easily the best run meet that I have ever been to. Rick makes it fun and informative with his frequent announcements and was always on top of record swims as they were approaching the finish. Not once in 3 days was any administrator or official responsible for slowing down the meet and with over 1000 swimmers and 30+ hours of swimming this is nothing short of a Herculean fete. Even when swimmers were slow to get to the blocks, Rick and the fantastic officials staff politely gave them a second chance to make it to their race. There were no stones left unturned in the prepartion of this meet and my teammates including my son (swimming in his first Masters meet) had a fantastic weekend. Thanks Rick, Cambridge Masters, and anybody else who had anything to do with the staging of this great event.
  • For those who were at the meet (or those who weren't), we have now posted all of the post-meet reports. This includes: * A full reproduction of the participation sticker certificates, complete with the certificate, and all of your stickers. You can print out your full sheet if you missed any stickers at the meet. * Full seed time analysis for the 960 swimmers who swam in one or more events. Best seeders, worst seeders, seed prize winners (swim matched seed exactly), honorable mentions (within 0.10 on any one event), and a full list of all swimmers and their seed time performance metrics. I appreciate all of the positive feedback on the meet, I really do. If anyone has any other feedback (either positive, or "constructive"), please feel free to post, or send me an email or PM. -Rick

Locally I admire our Long Beach Grunions for the huge their huge success each year at the SCM Championships. But we can see that NEM is on the same exceptional level! Probably a warmer building found at Harvard than at Belmont Plaza!
