At a recent 6-Tathalon, it was reported Paul Smith (AZ) could barely break a 23 for his 50 free. This great and legendary masters talent even proceeded to scratch the 50 back and ***.
How can this be?

Troubling and disturbing to see such a rapid decline of a once great swimmer. As Sargent at Arms for a professional swimming team, his inclusion on this team is now seriously at risk.
Think of the children and how they will be devastated.

How can this be? I thought the optycon, creatine, time released B, yoga, stretching in the grocery store, inspiration from a beautiful wife, etc. were helping him train longer and harder ... And now he's scratching 50s?! Do you think he could make it through the 25s at the Sprint Classic or are we really down to 12.5 power sprints?
And lets's forget about the 100 IM forever ... hardly breaking 1:00?!
I guess it's a good thing he's sending his 150 tech suits to quilts for the homeless ... they couldn't halt or reverse this rate of decline ... ;)
aka "Jazz Hands distance set"
Jazz has given up swim training, as it seems to have no bearing on how fast or slow he swims the 50 free/50 fly. I guess Coach Clydesdale should just follow his lead now.
And no doubt used his AARP discount for those ...
Hey, hey, you're casting a pretty wide net with that comment, "young" lady!!! LOL
Many of us posters resemble that remark, and are PROUD of it.
You too will reach the magic years some day.
