If Rowdy call the LZR an "old-fashioned suit" once more, I'm gonna flip :bitching:
I had the exact same thought! If it's so damn "old fashioned," why is it being banned exactly?
I am reminded of the Sunday puzzle on NPR with Will Shortz:
"Take a nickname derived from the three letter denomination given to its formerly world-beating suit by Speedo's marketing department and change one vowel to aptly sum up how the suit is now characterized by those poor unfortunates who are contractually, duty, or honor bound to swim it in the face of obviously superior technology.
Yes, Leanne, correct, 'Laser' becomes 'Loser', but it would have been nice to give the caller a chance."
If Rowdy call the LZR an "old-fashioned suit" once more, I'm gonna flip :bitching:
Sheesh, the LZR was the talk of Beijing last summer. He and fellow announcers talked them up to no end.
Perhaps erasing Mr. Abraham's 100 free record at nationals (while sporting the blue magic) has made him think otherwise.
And where were the Speedo folks last summer, when their suits were clearly superior? Did any of them admit "I only won/set a record because my suit is clearly superior"?
100% agree...and I put Shubert at the top of the list.
As an aside, Rowdy's latest comment: the stroke 50s are "worthless", except the 50 free: "I really like that 50".
He's been following Jazz Hands blog, training philosophy and abiltities.

What? Has the elitist beer drinker lost his sense of humor?
Rowdy's comments about the other 50s being "worthless" was idiotic.

Not if you understand some of the reasoning behind what he said...USA Swimming will not offer these events at our World Champioship Trials...and in general does not take the 50's "seriouslly" (such a surprise given who the director is). If the USA is going to want to be competitive in these events we have to adopt them in all our Championship meets and offer national team slots to the winners of those meets so we have the best swimmers in those events racing...not team members who qualfied in the 100's swimming them as a side show.
And everyone knows I don't have a sense of humor...except of coursewhen it comes to Geek and his chicken legs.
I really wish the USA would get serious about SCM racing too.
I hate that the USA is so poorly represented in SCM world records.
Agreed. I also wish the NCAA would take the lead on this and host another championship in this format like they did a few years back.
