It is nice to see that the women's breaststroke just isn't just for the 16 year old anymore.
Phelps was beaten in the 100 back. But, the press is already treating like he was beaten in the 200 fly or something. Phelps had a good swim against Peirsol. When Phelps gets beated in his best events(if he swims them tapered), then the press can say that he was beaten. Phelps doesn't have to prove anything anymore. He is experimenting and non-Phelps like events.

One of the most impressive swims I've seen the results that nobody mentioned is Eric Shanteau's 200 ***. He annihilated the field by almost 5 seconds and went 2:09.
Just watched the 100 meter final online and Phelps certainly swam a strange race. Seemed to mix straight-arm with his regular stroke in both 50s. Still came in a strong second, and certainly has tried a few different things this weekend. Can't wait for the next meet!
