I was born in 1933 - Has swimming changed since then. Here is a historical remdition of swimming from the past. It also includes Jon Hendricks from Australia winning the 100 meters in 1956. www.youtube.com/watch
  • We know that Spitz was able to go actually faster in the 90's then he did when he swam at the Olympics This statement is not true. Mark Spitz did not go faster in the 1990's then he did at the 1972 Olympics. The event that he trained for in his comeback was the 100 meter fly. His best time from that period was a :58.03 compared to a :54.27 time in the 1972 Olympics. The Olympic Trial qualifying standard was :55.59 so he was significantly short of both marks.

    Can you swim a 1:08 or 1:07 100m backstroke or a :57 sec 100m free??? and remember there has been some technique upgrades since those races.Bahahahah That was so funny! And yes they did look like they were from a retirement home.
