800 free relay - Cal and Georgia swam great, no surprise that the record went down. Auburn swam the same foursome (in the same order) that broke the American record a month ago, and they went 10.83 seconds slower. I guess their tapers are long gone.
History repeats itself for Auburn in the 800 Free Relay from last year. In 2007, Auburn set the American record at 6:57.28 and went 7:06.71 and went 9.63 seconds slower for 8th place. Three of the 4 swimmers on the relay last year were on the relay this year (Ohlgren, Marik, and Bird).
Kirk Nelson had this to say about that relay last year.
Arizona is swimming lights out. Auburn, on the other hand, as a team, is really struggling. Their 800 free relay tonight--that set a new NCAA and American Record last month--placed eight, nearly 10 seconds slower than a month ago. That, folks, is a meltdown.
We're actually working on getting all videos embedded into the corresponding recap. Keep an eye out for those much more user-friendly formats throughout the next few hours.
All on-demand footage that we have rights to at this point is up on our site. We have the videos embedded in the corresponding recaps for that event. So, in the future, if you happen to want to search and look for Julia Smit's win, it will be there in the article!
Sorry for the issues. We're still learning some stuff on the fly, trying to provide the world the chance to see NCAAs!
It should be very exciting tomorrow night. I don't think Arizona is out of it yet, but they've got their work cut out. Georgia will score lots of points, but they probably can't be too far behind in the relay. Cal is looking great, but they've got a few gaps. I still have a feeling they'll clinch it by winning the relay, but we shall see!
This is so frustrating!
For 2 1/2 days they provide live broadcasting, easily accessible to every one and bam, the last days finals are off limits to those who don't have ESPN 360.
Our local girl makes it into a final and it's the one we can't watch, very disappointing.

Thanks for all the hard work bringing the event to us.Neverming all the little glitches with the sound, at this point would love anything -even if it had no sound.
Looks like my F'ing ISP does not have access to ESPN360. How soon will tonights finals be on the swimminworld website if they will be at all. This SUCKS!
Thanks. We may be able to post the footage up at some point, but we want to make sure that we can continue this relationship with the NCAA and ESPN. Without their supporting us doing the stream, we would not have all this footage to provide to you all. We're going to wait until we know for sure that it would not be an issue with ESPN for us to post our archival footage of tonight.
Our 100-percent goal is to get this meet to the world, but we want to do it the right way.
